CAMBRIDGE (May 19, 2016) – Today Sonic Bloom announced it will join MassChallenge Boston, the most startup-friendly accelerator on the planet. “MassChallenge is a huge opportunity for us to fulfill our dreams of starting, and running a company. Being local to the MassChallenge community, we’ve seen how its accelerated other local companies like ArtLifting. We’re excited to see how Sonic Bloom will develop and change over the next couple of months.” - Justin Stanizzi, Co-Founder
Eric and Justin Founded Sonic Bloom, LLC in July 2014, as a way to better connect music and video to our world of software. They have since gone on to sell their tool Koreographer to Unity developers all over the world. Although video games are one application they’re looking forward to working with MassChallenge to develop their business and bring their powerful music tool to new software applications.
“We received consistent feedback from our judges about the quality of applicants this year, and I'm confident we’ll have an incredibly high-caliber class of entrepreneurs joining us in Boston," said MassChallenge Boston Managing Director Scott Bailey. "These entrepreneurs will be challenged throughout the program to impact communities and provide disruptive solutions across a wide range of industries. Be on the lookout for them this summer!”
This year’s MassChallenge Boston class was selected from more than 1,700 applicants across a diverse range of industries and geographies, including 65 countries and 37 states. The accelerator program will culminate on November 2, 2016, at the MassChallenge Boston Awards Ceremony, where entrepreneurs will pitch their startups with the chance to win a share of $1.5 million in zero-equity awards.
Sonic Bloom's participation in MassChallenge comes at a critical time for their business development. MassChallenge provides professional mentoring to help Sonic Bloom, and start-ups like them, develop their business models, and shepherd through their next crucial steps as a start-up. Sonic Bloom stands at a point where new strategic partnerships and market assessments will influence their future business. MassChallenge has already brokered conversations between industry leaders, and will continue to provide assistance through October, when the program ends.
About Sonic Bloom:
Sonic Bloom was founded by childhood friends, Justin Stanizzi and Eric Robinson as a response to their involvement in Cambridge based video game companies, Harmonix Music Systems, and Fire Hose Games. They developed Koreographer for the Unity Asset Store, to bring the musical experiences from games like Guitar Hero, to independent game developers. Their concept has since grown from video games, to other software applications that can benefit from music synchronization. Although their strategy has changed, the mission has remained; to bring the emotional impact of music to software experiences.
